What is Influenster?

If you aren’t familiar with Influenster, it is a free-to-join community of trendsetters, social media masterminds, and educated consumers who live to give opinions of products and experiences. They invite members to sample their “VoxBox” programs, totally free of charge in exchange for sharing honest opinions in via reviews and on special media. You don’t need to have a blog to be eligible or anything like that.  Anyone can sign-up!

How was I selected to receive VoxBox with free stuff?

It’s a simple recipe really.  Be or get active on social media, share things lots of things, have friends, family anyone networked with you to like and comment with what you share,  this creates engagement and impact which builds up your influence. Also tag brands, publishers, other bloggers, and @Influenster in posts. It’s important to expand your network, and show you’re capable of influencing others on social media. Use the right hashtags (#hashtags), and you’ll expand your network.

When you’re Selected for VoxBox.

Once your pre-selected you’ll get a notification and directed to a short quiz.  Based on the quiz that you fill out after being ”pre-select” this box, you can generally get a pretty good idea of what’s in the box.  However, you really don’t know for sure until it comes, but I had an idea of what to expect.

Just like with most subscription boxes, VoxBox sends an information card with product details, etc.  You are required to take a survey on your box and can if you wish, blog about it, Instagram it, tweet about it, etc. to help you earn more points and more vox boxes, but again, only the quiz is necessary!

Want to be an Influencer?

Awesome idea use this link to sign up at www.Influenster.com (One of my fav websites of all time). To get you started, here is a  quick list of tips that may help you score a VoxBox fast.

1. Link ALL of your social media accounts. Even if you only have a single follower on FourSquare, link the account. Every follower counts towards your “Social Impact Score,” and a high score equates to a greater chance of scoring a VoxBox.
2. Don’t be afraid to send public messages to brands and people. It’s essential that you show Influenster how you interact with your followers. If possible, try to update your social media platforms at least once per day. Also, tag @Influenster whenever it’s relevant to do such a thing.
3. You can prove your ability to write reviews when you unlock “Expert Badges.” Not to be confused with VoxBox badges, Expert Badges can be unlocked by any Influenster member. Sign up, and start reviewing products you’ve already tried. There will be tasks to complete, and once you’ve completed the tasks, you’ll earn the badge and possibly start receiving relevant products.
4. Invite your friends. One hand washes the other, and in my experience, Influenster rewards people who talk to their friends. Spread the word about Influenster, and you may just prove you have the influence needed to be successful with a VoxBox.
